A 51-year-old woman was reportedly murdered in her home in an apparent house robbery on Friday in the Western Cape.

The incident happened on a private nature reserve estate near Wolseley.

According to News24, the woman was identified as Renée Jain.

She was an IT expert and was Cape Union Mart’s enterprise application manager, the report said.

Police were investigating the circumstances leading to her death.

This is not the first time that a murder case has been reported in Wolseley. Last year in October, a 33-year-old suspect was arrested in Wolseley after he was seen dragging the body of a local 20-year-old woman.

Sowetan Live reported at the time that the man’s arrest came after community members alerted the police to the suspicious activity in the Pine Valley informal settlement.

During the same month, the report said, another woman’s body was dug up from a shallow grave.
