It’s August. Can you believe it? It feels as if yesterday we were ringing in the New Year. Time flies when you’re having fun. Well, not always. Stress takes its toll on us over the course of the year. You might not even notice it, until someone taps you on the shoulder and you’re in excruciating pain from tense muscles.
Taking time out to relax is an important part of being the best you. Everyone needs a bit of ‘me time’, even Beyoncé. She only has 24 hours in a day, and guess what? So do you. Remember to take some time off for relaxation. Some people choose to listen to calming music and others prefer to unwind in a warm bubble bath. Boschendal Wine Estate offers the perfect relaxation package: a yoga retreat.
Guests are invited to experience an authentic yoga programme, which includes breath-work, movements, dialogue, diet and meditation. The yoga retreat includes two nights’ accommodation, dinner on Friday evening, breakfast, 2 tea breaks, lunch and dinner on Saturday as well as breakfast, 2 tea breaks and lunch on Sunday. All meals prepared are vegan-friendly.
Viktor van der Kleij, an internationally acclaimed yoga teacher will be the instructor at the retreat. He has been teaching for 20 years and says that yoga is his passion.
The yoga retreat will not only relax your mind and muscles, but also allow your tastebuds to loosen up with chef Christiaan Campbell. Are you trying to eat healthy? Christiaan can help with a talk about ethical and conscious cuisine to help you on your fitness journey. Agro-ecologist Megan McCarthy will also be giving a talk on the basics of urban food growing, for all those who would like to eat fresh at home.
The Boschendal Wine Estate has luxurious accommodation and picturesque views, guaranteed to leave you feeling refreshed and revitalised after the yoga retreat.
