Ah, the soft pitter-patter of invisible feet over creaking floors. The flickering of lights. The faint shadowy outline of someone standing at the foot of your bed – these “cliches” are what makes a great ghost story.
If the thought of hunting ghosts and living your own ghost story excites you, we have two questions: Are you okay? And would you like to have your own haunted village?
According to Business Insider, the ancient ruins of a village in Scotland, which is said to be haunted, is currently up for sale with a price tag of $173 000 (R2.4 million). Pocket change for those who enjoy having the bejeebers scared out of them.
Along with the 17th-century ruins, the Old Village also includes the House of Lawers. This house is something special, as it stands on the former home of the Lady of Lawers – the one who is said to haunt the village, even to this day.
According to Goldcrest Land and Property Group, Lady of Lawers was known for her “prophecies which apparently became true, and things that she said became true up to this day,” Jon Lambert, partner at the Property Group, said.
The 3.31-acre property is located on the shores of Loch Tay in Perthshire. While not everyone will enjoy seeing the visage of a spooky old lady walking their hallways, your own private beach and native woodland may help shake off the shiver down your spine.
While we’re not grabbing our cheque books anytime soon, who wouldn’t want to see what a haunted property looks like? Here’s a peek:
