Japan is getting rugby ready ahead of the World Cup and in doing so is practicing South Africa’s National Anthem, “Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika”.

A video of a large group of Japanese people at Kumagaya Stadium singing the national anthem is going viral. They have clearly been practicing hard as they belt out the words effortlessly.

The town’s mayor joined in the serenade and together they masterfully sang our glorious anthem.

Kumagaya Stadium will be the venue of the warm-up match between our Springboks and Japan on September 6. We know who we are backing, but it seems we have a good vocal team backing our boys on that end too. The Springboks left for Japan today.
