After the festive season rudely left a huge dent in many of our bank accounts, welcoming new additions to our wardrobes seems nearly impossible. Luckily, a selection of stores stocking vintage, pre-loved finds can be found in the Mother City. Here are five of our favourites.

1 Secondhand Rose

Established in 1971, it’s believed that Secondhand Rose is the first shop of its kind to open its doors in the Mother City. If you’re in the mood to doll yourself up or revamp your day-to-day wardrobe, we recommend this quaint little store as a starting point for your style mission.

2nd Take is the biggest seller of consignment secondhand apparel in the country and even has its own online store. It all began by seeking a solution to a problem that many of us are guilty of – having a good chunk of our wardrobes filled with impulsive buys that we never wear. It’s been so successful, it now has a Rondebosch store too.
