Athleisure – workout clothing worn as leisure-wear – has become the go-to style staple for everyone from millennials to carpool moms. Olympian Mari Rabid believes that the athleisure look doesn’t have to be dishevelled; with her new clothing brand, MovePretty, she wants to change the perception of athleisure and bring it into the fashion space.
In 2014, Mari and fashion designer Annalize Kotze found a gap in the South African athletic-wear market for items that were more feminine yet still versatile. So, in the heart of Stellenbosch, they established MovePretty to cater for active, career-driven women.
With their latest spring collection, the duo were inspired by all things jungle and the range feature feminine florals on casual athletic wear – from comfortable baseball jackets and printed tights to workout accessories.
