It’s the time for plenty of chocolate Easter eggs and bunnies. Capetonians love their pickled fish and hot cross buns during this time and just enjoying a nice feast together with friends and family.

Have you already thought of what you are going to do to decorate your table this year? We have you covered with different and fun Easter DIY craft ideas. Ask the kids to join in too!

Make your own bunnies out of wooden disposable spoons or toilet rolls:

You would need pipe cleaners, small disposable wooden spoons and craft glue. Your bunny’s face can be drawn on with markers, paint or a coloured pencil. Stick the pipe cleaners on for ears and you have a bunny! Alternatively, you can use empty toilet rolls and cut out paper ears.

Easter egg balloons:

All you need are some beautiful balloons and craft paint and create your own Easter egg decor on your balloons.

Easter egg bouquet for the table:

Plastic eggs, paint, a clear vase, and your favourite type of flower will indicate which colour is perfectly suited to dye the eggs with.

If you have chosen red and pink roses for your easter table, dye the eggs red and pink, for example.  Lay them around the inside of the vase equally and then place your beautiful roses in the middle.

Speckled eggs:

All you need are a few plastic eggs, a toothbrush and acrylic paint. Use your finger to do flinging paint. Best done outside if you want to avoid a mess.

Pipe cleaner eggs:

A few plastic eggs would be needed and some colourful pipe cleaners and glue. Wrap the pipe cleaner around the egg, adding small dots of hot glue as you go. Snip off any excess pipe cleaner once you have reached the bottom of the egg.

Pom Pom bunny wreath:

To hang on your front door, you will need 17 large white pom-poms and stick it to a 12-inch craft ring/wreath with hot-glue. Cut ears from a white and pink felt material and use glue to bind them together and stick them to the back of the ring.
