1. Horror Film at Galileo Open Air Cinema 

The creatures of the night are unleashed on the big screen thanks to The Galileo Open Air Cinema. Horror movies fans will love this years selection; A Nightmare on Elm Street. Because it’s Halloween, dress up in your scariest costume and you could win a prize. A candy stall will be there so you can get some treats. Cuddle up under the stars in Kirstenbosch and spend the night watching one of the world’s most feared villains in the world.

2. Fantasy Halloween Make-up at Cape Town Beauty Bar 

Whether you’re headed to a house party or club, you know there are going to be costume competitions this Halloween. The Cape Town Beauty Bar (CTBB) wants to help you create that winning look. Whether you are going for something stylish or terrifying the make-up artists at CTBB have got you covered. There is a selection of looks on hand or you can bring a picture for the artists to recreate. All you have to is book.

3. So Happy Freakshow 

If you are looking for biggest Halloween party in the city, look no further. The So Happy Freakshow is the party of your nightmares (which in this case is a good thing). Think costumes, contortionists, magicians, games and a whole lot of fun. Miss Nina will keep the beats coming so you can dance the night away. Not only will you have a night of fun, you will be contributing to a good cause. Ten percent of all profits of the party will be going towards The Smile Foundation, who work towards helping children with facial conditions. So go on, get freaky and do some good.

4. Zombie Walk 

The walking dead will wander through the streets of Cape Town on Saturday 29 October, and you can join the horde. It’s time for the annual Zombie Walk. Join the masses of bloody, pale people in torn clothing in search of brains and mayhem in this hugely popular event. This year the walk has been extended to 4-5 km and the organisers would like to apply and set a Guinness World Record, but the need 9500 zombies to do it. The walk is free and family friendly, but if you not are ready to give up the prowl, an after party will be happening at Madison Avenue Cape Town.

5. Halloween Zipline

Do you dare Zipline at night? On Halloween, Cape Canopy Tours is letting you soar into the night. You can book your spot between 7 pm and 3 pm, and at 5 pm the fun starts. Not only is it the scariest night of the year, it’s also a new moon. That means you’ll be ziplining in complete darkness. Get your best costume together, charge that headlamps and head on over to the Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve for a night time adrenaline kick.
