Tween heart-throb and mega-star Justin Bieber is bringing his velvet vocals back to the Mother City this May. The ‘Where Are U Now’ hitmaker previously visited our shores in 2013, infamously meeting and tweeting about a couple of local girls. Yes, wherever he goes, the Biebs will always have a flurry of gorgeous women in his wake – but nothing compares to the beauty that is Cape Town. We’re sure if he gives these six hot spots a go, the city will not only prove to be wildly attractive but with our distinctive cuisine and culture, capture his heart too.

1 Lion’s Head and Signal Hill

It’s no secret we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to scenic lookout points and accessible hiking trails. And with these two, it’s difficult to recommend one over the other. Signal Hill is the perfect spot to find tranquility between strenuous rehearsals, reconnect with the elements while taking in the views of the city or enjoy sundowners with his entourage (that is if he doesn’t mind being mobbed by locals who frequent this hill). We also think Justin should give Lion’s Head a try too – with 360-degree views of the City Bowl, the Atlantic Seaboard and the 12 Apostles, it’s the culmination of everything Cape Town embodies. Besides, we can’t wait to see the Insta love coming in from across the world for a pic of JB at the iconic Lion’s Head summit.

2 Bo Kaap

Tucked away on the slopes of Signal Hill lies the rich and multicultural neighbourhood of Bo Kaap. This quaint little community is rooted in Malay, Indian and Sri Lankan descent and forms the hub of Cape Town’s Muslim population. Having established itself as a prime tourist destination, with stars such as Shay Mitchell even snapping a pic amidst the colourful houses and cobblestone streets, we’re sure the locals would welcome Justin with open arms.

3 Truth Coffee Roasting

The city has amazing coffee as far as the eye can see but we think Truth in Buitenkant Street would easily remedy Justin’s jetlag once he arrives in the Mother City. This steampunk cafe was recently named the best coffee shop in the world by the UK’s The Telegraph and serves up artisan coffee that’s hand-roasted in a vintage cast-iron drum – all amid impeccable design and decor. Back in 2013, videos from Bieber’s Journals album gave us blues sounds intermixed with three-piece suits and fedoras so we’re sure the pop star would appreciate the coffee house’s vintage industrial aesthetic.

4 Mzoli’s Place

Cape Town is one of the most glamorous cities in Africa and loved by stars the world over yet we also celebrate a melting pot of vibrant cultures, which includes township life. The phenomenon that is Mzoli’s Place serves as the resident butchery, braai area and hangout spot in the heart of Gugulethu. The setting may be basic – meat served in enamel plates with plastic cutlery direct from the butcher to the braai – but the concept is refreshing and authentic. A buzzing crowd 0f businessmen, blue collar workers and celebs mingle in a relaxed setting as they blur the lines of social disparity often found within the city borders. And as the afternoon wears on, the music revs up and boisterous patrons groove to the sound of deep-house beats. Given Justin’s inspiration from street culture in his fashion and music, the Mzoli experience will surely awaken his creative juices.

5 Shimmy Beach Club

Whether it’s a night out or a leisurely lunch, Shimmy Beach Club is a high-class ‘playground for the super wealthy’.  The trendy villa-style restaurant has its very own man-made private beach with some impressive seaside views and an infinity pool and stage area that has seen many an international and local act. Justin can enjoy Ibiza-esque vibes in the VIP area with his posse while rubbing shoulders with Cape Town’s elite.

6 Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel & Spa

Another Mother City must-do lies in the grandeur of our historic Pink Lady. In our eyes, the South African leg of the Purpose Tour would be incomplete without an afternoon spent indulging in opulent High Tea at the Nellie. Their delectable chocolate cake, freshly baked scones and uniquely South African melktert are sought after by everyone from presidential figures to locals. The colonial-style estate is set amongst a backdrop of sprawling plush gardens on the foothills of Table Mountain and will provide Justin with the perfect escape from the madding crowds we know will be watching his every move.
