Chad Da Don is blowing up on the SA hip hop scene – and for good reason. Just last week, he entertained fans at the CB Presents party held at Shimmy Beach. We chatted with Chad while he was here to find out what he thinks about Cape Town.
1 How does Cape Town influence you and your music when you visit?
Cape Town inspires my music in a different way in terms of creating something unique from the beautiful energy that this city has. It’s very easy to get inspired in the Mother City.
2 What do you love most about this city?
What I like most about Cape Town is the feeling of peace. The coast is amazing to settle the mind.
3 If your friend was visiting Cape Town for the first time, where would you take them?
I’d definitely take them to a Lebanese restaurant in Stellenbosch called Man’oushe.
4 Describe the city in three words.
Slow, beautiful and calming.
5 If you were to create a souvenir that represents Cape Town, what would it be or look like?
Most probably a snail because of how slow people drive. [Laughs.]
6 What’s your favourite Cape catchphrase?
Definitely ‘Aweh’!
