The 23-year-old beauty from Paarl, Tamaryn Green, walked away with the coveted title of Miss South Africa on Sunday night at a glitzy ceremony in Pretoria. Green is a perfect example of beauty with a purpose – she is a 6th year medical student and plans to use her title to further her reach of healing the people of South Africa. She will also represent South Africa at the Miss Universe pageant.
Her prizes add up to a R3-million package, inclusive of R1-million in cash, a fully-furnished and serviced apartment for the year of her reign, and a Nissan Qashqai. On Monday morning she was presented with her prizes and drove off in her new car to begin her year of reign.
Aside from her serious career, she has a humorous side… as seen in this video of her pretending to be actor and socialite Bonang Matheba.

Stepping out of our comfort zone allows us to discover new strengths and limitations. It allows growth. It’s scary & unpredictable but can be rewarding whether successful or not. Remember a win is a blessing & a loss is a lesson learnt. I’m ready to take a leap. #misssa2018 pic.twitter.com/DZyu6y74sB

Green also loves children and wants to specialise in paediatrics when she qualifies.
So much excitement visiting my Primary School yesterday??. Can’t believe I too used to be a tiny tot. #misssa2018 #TamarynGForMissSA @Official_MissSA @CellC pic.twitter.com/OErxsqsTGc
