Dancers Love Dogs is a non–profit organisation founded by Brigette Reeve–Taylor, a former professional dancer, acclaimed choreographer and animal lover.
The initiative was first conceived of after Reeve-Taylor stopped to pick up a sickly, mange-ridden dog she saw hobbling along the side of the highway.
During the process of nursing the dog (Miles) back to health with the help of PETS associates, Reeve-Taylor realised she wanted to make a positive impact on the lives of stray animals. And thus began Dancers Love Dogs.
The organisation involves an array of dancers and performers – from hip hop dancers to ballerinas – who come together in a gala performance for the love of animals.
All proceeds made from the annual event go towards the Dancers Love Dogs fund, which oversees the mass sterilisation and nurturing of animals in need.
