Parents are constantly challenged by the search for activities that promise quality fun and promote a sense of unity. Look no further, as the countdown has begun to bring you the greatest and most innovative family festival South Africa has ever seen.
FunderLand Festival and Kidz Expo will be at launching at Grandwest Entertainment World in Cape Town, and is the first ever event of its kind. Come on down for 11 days of non-stop family entertainment with a mix of everything that inspires endless delight! From illusion, mystery and magic, music and dance to hi-tech gaming, no child or parent will be disappointed or bored.
The festival will be jam-packed with over 25 different Fun Zones, including the Extreme Tech Zone and the African Cyber Gaming League. In addition to the edgeless fun and games, the FunderLand Talent Search will also take place.
Be prepared to be transported to a wonderland fulfilling the dreams of you and your kids with sheer, unadulterated joy. FunderLand is ready to fire up the imagination with robots, dinosaurs, gaming, cooking, sports and computers while providing a thrill a minute. While the kids dance with the colourful Lollos and cheeky Bop Boppers, rugby enthusiasts will be blown away by the cheerleading routine of the DHL Stormers Girls. Circus-style acts will also amaze both the young and the young at heart.
Since sport plays a big part in the role of educating South Africa’s youth, FunderLand’s sports programmes have produced some of the world’s greatest sporting talent but not all children thrive in formal leagues. Tweens, teens and young adults also love to play for fun. Enter the Funtainment area, filled with multi-purpose sporting game fun. In addition, Funderland will feature extreme sports such as MX, BMX and skateboarding, drone racing and go-carting.
Kids will learn all about the value of teamwork, with an opportunity to shine in a non-competitive and collaborative environment, while practicing a range of drills and skills across a variety of sport disciplines on the multi-sports court, sponsored by FunderLand’s strong partnership with Adidas’ Football4All programme.
Football4All is an Adidas sponsored national grassroots soccer programme, providing Primary school going children with expert coaching by former international players. Living in a screen dominated world today, the programme’s focus is on encouraging an active social time through fair-play and friendship.
Last but definitely not least, the FunderLand Talent Search and the FunderLand Mzansi competitions are set to light the stage as FunderLand searches for the country’s freshest and most unique talent. Open to anybody and any talent you could possibly think of, and will host hundreds of hopefuls in South Africa’s biggest talent search yet, who will battle it out on the FunderStage for the final title in December 2018.
Entrants are required to film themselves performing their unique talent, then simply upload the 60-second video to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, or directly to FunderLand’s website http://funderland.co.za/talent-search/. All details and rules can be found here as well.
