A collective of music industry professionals with a passion for cultivating creativity developed the Woodstock Live concept. Woodstock Live acknowledges the urban centres of our City and aims to develop new platforms in the greater Woodstock and District 6 communities. This fresh concept wishes to unite multiple communities in Cape Town through events which target the creative sector, family, children, and the elderly.
The inaugural Woodstock Live music concert is bringing us together to re-imagine our creative future. The musical lineup spotlights SA artists who all have stories to tell related to their musical journeys. Monday is a public holiday so you can rock out at the park until midnight on Sunday without fretting the Monday Blues. The talented artists include Goodluck, Das Kapital, Mix n Blend, Los Tacos, The Liminals, Tresor and more. Our event post details the full lineup.
Location
The event takes place at the historically relevant Trafalgar Park, a beautiful public space between Nelson Mandela Boulevard and Woodstock Main Road. The park features play equipment, grassy lawns, benches, footpaths and more. The park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1968 and is protected for its archival value. Take a moment to appreciate the remains of the French Redoubt (a sort of fort) including a large brick chimney that looks like a kiln. These date back to the late 18th century and are the last remains of what was once a line of defence against attack by the British.
Please note
Under 18s are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Don’t forget to bring you ID, sun protection, and blankets to sit on for when you take a break from the stage.
Share a ride, walk or Uber because only street parking is available in the area surrounding the park.
The bar, food stalls and merchandise stand will only accept cash so bring plenty. The only card facility will be at the gate for ticket purchases.
There will be plenty of awesome vendors who need your support so please leave your own food and drinks at home.
Although the park is usually pet-friendly, please don’t bring your pets to this event as only registered guide dogs are allowed.
Trafalgar Park is wheelchair friendly, so bring your gran to groove along.
Woodstock Live invited some of the artists to have a chat and some fun in the studio. See what they were up to in the video, below:
