Best known for his songs ‘Sugar Man’, ‘I Wonder’ and ‘Crucify Your Mind’, Rodriguez started out his career in Detroit where his musical talents went largely unnoticed by US audiences.
Unaware that he had reached overnight stardom status in South Africa, Rodriguez relinquished his musical talents and followed another path – taking on miscellaneous jobs to support his family.
In the 1990’s his career was reignited after being sought after by South African fans, and today he is celebrated for the music legend he is.
