I think that we can all agree that 2016 has been one heck of a year. It started with the great David Bowie passing away and has been on a downward trajectory every since. Alan Committie has the best way to deal with this – laughter.
For his latest show, Alan embarks on a year-end review. From politics to the disastrous new design of the Toblerone, he takes you through the various topics that he deems ‘Laughing Matters’ to show you the importance to seeing the funny side of everything. And nothing is off limits. Why? Because laughing matters!
The show is classic Committie at his best. Within the first few minutes, you’ll have marvelled at the set (a padded cell in an insane asylum – according to the comedian, it’s not to contain madness but rather keep the madness of 2016 out), guffawed at his comments on the audience’s reactions and been in hysterics at his quickfire jokes.
Alan’s hilarious alter ego Johan van der Walt also makes an appearance to give his two cents and there’s another surprise in the show to look forward to (we’ll keep our mouths shut so we don’t ruin it).
The show is on throughout December, including a special Christmas eve performance, until 14 January 2016. So ring in the new year the best way possible – with a good old laugh!
