The young boy who touched the nation with his tearful happiness after having his shoes signed by Springbok Captain, Siya Kolisi, got a lot more than just an autograph.
Making an appearance at the BrightRock Players Choice Awards on Tuesday evening, the 15-year-old rugby fan was invited as a VIP guest to join Kolisi in accepting an award.
It will definitely be a night young Lebo Mogoma will never forget. The learner from Helpmekaar College beamed with happiness as he was able to greet his idol and take to the stage alongside Kolisi. Mogoma accompanied Kolisi when he accepted Cheslin Kolbe’s award for Backline Player of the Year.

Rachel Kolisi shared a post on her Instagram page, thanking the community for helping them get in touch with Mogoma and making the evening a possibility.
Another athlete that attended the awards evening, Elma Smit, shared pictures of Mogoma filled with happiness while hugging Kolisi at the event.
Mogoma attended the event in his school uniform, proudly representing his school and smiling from ear-to-ear throughout the evening.
It is a truly special thing to see something so wonderful come from a local hero simply taking the time to sign a pair of shoes.
