Popular British pop-rock band The 1975 will be performing in South Africa this year as they make their debut at Rocking the Daisies in October.
Daisies, which is held in Darling and sees thousands attending each year, announced on social media that the award-winning band is one of the international headliners that will be performing at the festival.
It will be the first time the band performs in the country.
The 1975 has won several accolades, receiving the Brit Award for Best British Group in 2017 and 2019, the NME Award for Best Live Band in 2017 and the Brit Award for MasterCard Album of the Year for their most recent album, A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships.
Some of the most popular songs on their hit 2013 album, The 1975, IV, included ‘Sex’, ‘Chocolate’ and ‘Robbers’, all of which topped the UK charts in their year of release. The band has gained popularity internationally and has previously headlined festivals such as the Reading festival, Leeds Festival and more.
