Fans of mega hit reality television show Keeping Up With The Kardashians woke up bewildered when Kim Kardashian announced that the family would be saying goodbye. The show has stretched on for 14 years, and spawned 20 seasons.
The show helped Kim Kardashian and her siblings Kourtney, Khloe, Rob, Kendall and Kylie become become household names over the past decade. It has also helped them launch their careers into various streams of business including fashion and beauty. The show’s final season will air early in 2021.

According to producer E! Entertainment, there is no reason for the show to end, but the “the family’s decision to live their lives without our cameras”. In the years preceding the announcement, numerous siblings have expressed their desire to leave the show. Kourtney was reluctant to be on camera to film the show in the latter years, and made appearances less frequently. Kim has also endured a particularly turbulent year with her husband Kanye West, as he has expressed an ongoing battle with his mental health and has also put in a bid to run for president of the US.

In an Instagram message posted on Tuesday [September 8], Kim (39) wrote: ‘To our amazing fans – It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians. After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children.”

“We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way. Thank you to the thousands of individuals and businesses that have been a part of this experience,” she concluded.
Fans have expressed their devastation at the news, while those who did not support the show and family expressed elation:
“THIS IS THE WORST NEWS EVER KUWTK is the only show I watch now I have to start watching Housewives,” one social media user said.
“It was absolute trash and terrible for society, especially young girls. I’m glad it’s gone, 14 years too late,” another said.
“Without KUWTK you wouldn’t be where you are today?! Ray J may disagree with you on that,” another used said.
