Cape Town-born Jade Hubner is a woman of many talents. While you may recognize her as a Top Billing presenter, the blond beauty was also a finalist in the Miss SA pageant and poses a formidable threat in the fields of music, dance and even entrepreneurship. Pretty much anything she tries her hand at, Jade has not only mastered, but has made it her own through her effervescent and outgoing personality.

Most recently, her musical endeavours have once again been revived through the release of her latest single Better Off. The track follows the success of her debut song Midnight Feels which was met with critical acclaim and large-scale airplay on radio stations across the country.

When pressed about the lyrics to Better Off, Jade revealed her inspiration from toxic relationships. Whether it be with a partner or a friend, the song aims to instill in people the strength to leave and move on from a bad situation. The overarching message is to have optimism for what lies ahead – not being afraid to cut ties with past hurt.

This message is encompassed in the poppy beats of renowned music producer Cosher (Colin Sher). After modest beginnings in a small home studio, Cosher has since produced for local favourites such as Jimmy Nevis, Danny K and Chad Saaiman. With so many hit-making sensations under his belt, it seems Jade may have scored a Top-40 record too.

Here’s hoping Better Off ascends to the top of the charts, not only for the commercial success of its deserving vocalist but also for the widespread endorsement of independence and self-love.

Better Off is available for download across all digital platforms now.
