School holidays can be a particularly stressful time for parents – just how do you keep your rambunctious kiddies from breaking down the house? With rainy weather and rising Covid numbers forcing many to stay inside, were sharing five fun indoor activities that will keep your little ones entertained.

Fun with Baking

Baking is an excellent opportunity for your kids to express themselves creatively in the kitchen. It’s also incredibly delicious! Grab your aprons, ingredients and make your own dessert that allows your kids to add their own bells and whistles (we’re talking plenty of toppings) to a homemade cupcake or hot cocoa.

Get ready to Karaoke

Does it matter if they can sing? Not really, but hosting a day filled with singing and hit songs is a sure-fire way to keep your kids busy. No need to buy a karaoke machine, grab a plastic mic and your favourite kid-friendly playlist and get ready to start belting the tunes!

Start Puzzling

What did our great-grandparents do without a smartphone and television? We’re pretty sure it was this. Completing a puzzle is a great way for your kids to get off their phones and get the little wheels in their brains turning. It’s also a fun way for the entire family to get involved, with studies showing that this can help improve collaboration and cooperation skills.

Become a Scientist

While a tad bit messy, it‘s so much fun! There are countless at-home science experiments that you can grab from the internet, with most items already in your pantry. From creating crystalized rock candy to creating your very own water cycle in a jar (how cool?!) There are plenty of fun experiments to try at home.

Go on a scavenger hunt

Scavenger hunts are what childhood memories are made of. Create a scavenger hunt-style list of items your child has to search for around the house, make sure a few clues are included to help guide them and don’t forget the giant prize at the end!
