Local comedian Trevor Noah has made waves in the United States of America for his unique brand of humour, and has now been named the world’s fourth-highest grossing comedian by Forbes Magazine. Making an estimated R430-million per annum – which equates to $28-million – its no wonder Trevor made the cut.
Kevin Heart comes out on top as the best-paid comedian, raking in R909-million due to endorsement deals with Mountain Dew and Chase Financial Fitness.
Trevor has generated his millions mostly through his stand-up shows, and has made more than 70 stops across the world to perform his Netflix special Trevor Noah: Son of Patricia. This is his second special on the globally streaming platform.
He is also reportedly still collecting money from the sale of his 2016 best-selling book Born A Crime.
Trevor is currently booked off from The Daily Show, which he has been host of since 2018, as his vocal cords are under strain. “Unfortunately, per doctor’s orders, I am on vocal rest and won’t be able to host The Daily Show tonight. Luckily we’ve got a few days off so I’m gonna rest and get back to 100,” he told his fans via social media last week.
He is now spending his off days touring across Singapore with fellow comedian Sizwe Dhlomo and other friends.
