1 Ginger & Lime, Fresnaye
Ginger & Lime offer a variety of classes every month. You can learn more about Mediterranean, Thai, Italian, Vegan or Asian Fusion cuisine, among other styles of cooking. They also invites guest chefs to show off their expertise. Costs vary accordingly. Book online.

2 Masala Dosa, CBD
Masala Dosa is a restaurant that also provides weekend cooking classes for those interested in Indian cuisine. You’ll be given an introduction to spices and how to blend them, and lessons in making certain Indian breads, a cheese called paneer, and the popular snack sev puri. To top it all off, you’ll be asked to make your very own curry!

3 KitchenAngel Cookery School, Newlands
Professional chef Lynn Angel gives aspiring cooks the chance to perfect their culinary abilities. She’ll offer numerous tips and cover classic and contemporary techniques. It’s up to you, or you and your team, to decide exactly what you’d like to prepare. Private sessions can be booked for any available time, while group sessions (with a minimum of four people) must be scheduled in advance.

4 The Little Pink Chef, Durbanville
The Little Pink Chef features classes in local and international food. Relish in the flavours of countries such as Mexico, Thailand and Greece. Learn how to make Spanish Tapas or basic Sushi. If your choice is Halaal, then you can explore either Moroccan or Indian cuisine. The kids are also welcome to attend lessons, as long they’re in a group of at least eight. There are classes scheduled from December through to February.

5 African Relish, Prince Albert
Based in the Great Karoo, African Relish offers an eclectic mix of culinary adventures. Here you have the choice between a range of courses. Some last only half the day, while others can take up a whole weekend. Local and foreign chefs are often invited to share their knowledge, and classes include Karoo Classics, Vegetarian, Comfort Food, Contemporary Italian, and Tapas – Karoo Style. Also look out for three week-long Gourmet Cycle Tours happening throughout 2017.
