As it was date night, my better half and I were off to the new hidden gem of Wembley Square. It was a bit tricky to find RUA at first, as you have to navigate your way around a residential apartment block, but when you head inside Wembley Square the first thing you hear is the music jamming at RUA. So, my advice is to follow the music.
We were seated in the cosy corner perfect for intimate exchanges with a great view of the restaurant and the trees outside. RUA is a tapas bar with a flair for street food making it excellent for sharing dishes with friends.
We started off with pork and apple spring rolls; chilli poppers; and a serving of lime, chilli and coriander prawns. You’ll be able to make a meal out of RUA’s starters and tapas menu. For mains, I decided on the mushroom and truffle risotto which was fitting for the chilly night. My dining beau cut into a peppercorn crusted rib eye and we both ordered a side of onion rings.
Although I started with a glass of chardonnay, after a few sips of RUA’s citrus mojito, I had to have my own chilled cocktail in a mini metal jug.
RUA loves waffles and ice cream, and we do too, so there was no question what would be our dessert. We shared waffles with homemade salted caramel ice cream with a hint of peanut butter.
RUA was the perfect way to start the weekend with upbeat tunes, great service and even better food.
