2 Claremont – The Larder

From cooking for Vatican members and nobility at Castello di Montepo in Tuscany, to working as a freelance food stylist, writer, recipe developer for UK publications and a private chef (“there is a reason why The Larder’s version of Eggs Benedict is called The Johnny Depp”), Sonja Edrige ended up opening one of the finest foodie spots in Claremont.

The cafe has renowned cinnamon buns churning out of the cafe every morning for only R25, as well as a scrumptious menu of croissants, banana loaves, frittatas, mushroom ragu, shakshuka and all the way to a classic BLT. 5 Muizenberg – blonde&beard

Owned by a blonde lady and a bearded dude (who would’ve guessed it?), blonde&beard in Muizenberg is serving up some cozy cafe food and the ideal midday treat. The Berg locals have dubbed the homey cafe’s flat whites as the best in Cape Town, and with a lot of coffee circulating our city, that’s a big compliment.
