Christmas is time for family, fun and (of course) fabulous food. This, however does not mean that you have to spend hours cooking a grand meal and then hours cleaning up afterwards. Cape Town restaurants are offering great Christmas lunch that you can your family can enjoy.
Grand Provence in Franschhoek
If good food is central to making your Christmas special, why not spend it in the foodie capital of the country? The Restaurant at Grande Provence has planned a lavish four-course menu that you can enjoy on either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. You can between meat or seafood Tuck into a choice of cold-smoked Angus beef tartar or saffron-cured burrata for starters, beetroot-cured local trout or BBQ langoustine for entrée and braised Karoo lamb neck or pan-seared local cob.
The last course is one a real treat. Dessert comes with a selection of caramelised white chocolate pot au crème served with an aerated vanilla sponge, hazelnut crémeux, salted caramel popcorn and rose caviar, or a colourful display of summer berries, indulgently paired with a variety of handmade chocolate.

Benguela Cove Pop-Up restaurant
The Benguela collection has a great array of special menus throughout December, but when it come to celebrating Christmas Day Benguela Cove Pop-Up Restaurant is the branch to be at. They will be serving up a delicious four course lunch. For R750 per person, you will be served fine dining dishes such as ham hock stuffed trotter terrine and maple glazed duck breast. There is special kiddies menu for kids between 4 and 12-years-old at just R120.

Bistro Sixteen82 at Steenberg
Travel to the heart of Constantia and enjoy a yuletide feast at Bistro Sixteen82. They are having a five course dinner planned, that also caters for children and vegetarians. Some features of the festive menu include sesame crusted seared fish carpaccio, pan-fried vannamei prawns, and confit Springbok. Vegetarians can tuck into sesame crusted avo carpaccio and a colourful dish of flash fried cherry tomatoes, asparagus and artichoke velouté, followed by a vegetable stack, truffled cauliflower purée and pickled exotic mushrooms.
For dessert, mango bavarois is served with cocoa butter ice cream and a coconut cigar. The kids’ ice cream comes with malva pudding and a delicious caramel sauce. The Christmas lunch menu is available at R725 per person excluding wine and R925 including wine pairings with each course. The menu for children under the age of 12 is R250.
