Last September, Pierre Jourdan and JML Consulting introduced the country to the greatest summer treat ever invented – wine popsicles! Since its release, Pierre Jourdan Popsicles has enjoyed phenomenal success and it’s easy to understand why.

It’s a scorching hot day and your dying for a drink, but that ice popsicle the kids are enjoying are so much more appealing. Enter Pierre Jourdan Popsicles or PJ Pops. They are an innovative and unique wine popsicle that’s as delicious as they are fun and are the perfect way for wine lovers to cool down.

Created and developed by JML Consulting, it took 13 months of planning, conceptualising and hard work to develop PJ Pops. First stocked in 26 Pick n Pay stores, by December, the popsicles were available in 38 stores across Gauteng, KZN, Limpopo and the Western Cape. Within four months, PJ Pops achieved more than R1 million in sales. Proof that people are loving these new wine treats.

Natasha Alomia, Director of JML Consulting says that as with any new product, there was no playbook to follow with PJ Pops. While there was a fair share of challenges and occasional setbacks, six months on, they see huge ongoing potential in the market.

The company is developing three new flavours that will be released later this year as well as another popsicle product that will not only be a South African first but a world first too. After the success of PJ Pops, we can’t wait to see what the new product will be.
