As if The Rockwell Hotel didn’t have enough to woo locals and visitors to its doors, this year saw it joining forces with Flagstone Wines to offer guests another indulgent experience: wine tasting.
Along with its 50 fully equipped rooms and apartments, a variety of wellness facilities, a restaurant and bar, and a theatre, The Rockwell now introduces its Flagstone Tasting Room, launched during an evening of music and poetry at the start of this month. The latter was provided by Flagstone’s founder, and published poet, Bruce Jack. Such artistic prowess certainly explains why Flagstone’s motto is ‘we are born creative’.
Creativity is definitely part and parcel of the Flagstone winemaking process. Each wine has a particular story and unique label so be sure to ask about the Dark Horse Shiraz, Two Roads Chardonnay, Writer’s Block Pinotage, Free Run Sauvignon Blanc and Music Room Cabernet Sauvignon when you visit.
