In Cape Town, the coffee culture has become so big that your usual run-of-the-mill filter coffee just won’t do anymore. Earlier this year, Cape {Town} Etc brought you the news of a new kind of coffee shop, Coco Safar. Artisanal, couture and all about the good stuff, the Coco Safar emporium is committed to bringing patrons the best Third Wave coffee.
In addition to its espresso bar featuring the world’s first Spirit espresso machine, capsule emporium selling coffees sourced the world over and produced right here in the Mother City and patisserie selling treats that look too good to eat, Coco Safar now introduces its City Roast Collection of Third Wave coffee capsules.
The range contains eight unique blends named after iconic cities across the globe: Napoli, a ristretto for those who love a strong, dark blend; an allongé called Jakarta; three espressos of different intensities called Saint-Tropez, Havana and Lisbon, along with a decaf espresso named Marrakesh; and green and red Rooibos espresso, dubbed Stellnbosch and Kaapstad respectively.
While all the blends are already available for you to enjoy at home (each box contains 15 capsules), over the next few months, the establishment will be introducing a series of free tastings focused on each blend. Patrons are invited to book their tasting of Havana to experience the opulence of Cuba.
The first Iconic Cities Collection tasting, Havana, is on until 15 December. Share your experiences using the hashtag #JourneyBeyondOrdinary.
