As we move towards the warmer months, chefs are collecting new flavours and fresh herbs from locally sourced gardens to create a vibrant plate to suit the season.
Here are a four restaurant specials available
1.La Petite Colombe
The premium fine-dining restaurant, La Petite Colombe, is celebrating their one year anniversary with a fresh menu for spring, offering a lighter touch to flavours for the warmer days ahead.
Awarded for the Conde Nast’s Best Hotel Restaurant along with a nomination from American Express Diners Club – La Petite Colombe is a must-visit establishment, nestled in the winelands town of Franschhoek.
Additions to the spring lunch menu include a Tortellini of Prawn, quail, curried hake velouté, cauliflower, coriander paired with a glass of Saxenberg ‘Limited Release’ 2011.
A four course Spring lunch special is valid until November 30 2018, costing R425 per person and R795 with a wine pairing. A vegetarian spring menu is available to cater to those with special dietary requirements.

2. Foxcroft
A culinary adventure awaits you at Foxcroft, located in Constantia. The restaurant aims to create a fine dining experience with a more causal and approachable feel.
Included in the spring lunch themed menu is a main course option of chicken and boudin noir with turnip, romanesco, quince and pancetta. A dessert option available is the warm hazelnut cake served with whipped Bahibe, naartjie and celeriac.
The special is a bargain, costing patrons R295 per person for a 4 course menu served with a carafe of wine. It is only valid from Monday to Saturday, excluding public holidays and ends on November 30 2018.

3. The Greenhouse
Led by award winning chef, Peter Templehoff, The Greenhouse located in the cellars Hohenort Hotel is a true experience of nature on a plate, as all the meals are inspired from the earth’s bounty. Some meals are served on dead wood or a bonsai plant.
Each meal comes with a little card that explains what the meal is about and the story behind it – offering an all rounded experience.
A restaurant special of a spring lunch tasting for R850 per persons is currently available, with several course options catering to different dietary requirements.
If paired with wine, the special will cost R 1200 per person. The spring menu celebrates local flavours and the diversity of Africa’s vibrancy. Please note that no children of 12 years old are allowed at the restaurant.

4. La Mouette
A modern and seasonal themed restaurant, hidden from the hustle and bustle in the Sea Point area offers a five course summer tasting menu at an affordable rate of R 550 per person.
The restaurant offers an ever changing menu that caters to the available ingredients of the season and is located in a quaint building. The feel of the restaurant gives you a sense of simplicity – with the decor finishings and comfortable setting.
A summer tasting menu provides a burst of flavour in their dessert option – ‘Eton mess’, comprised of strawberries, vanilla cream, strawberry granite, mint oil and meringue paired with a glass of Thelma Semillon Late Harvest 2014.
