There are two things we Capetonians will never get tired of seeing – our glorious Table Mountain and magnificent sunsets. No one can really blame us, you just have to go through our Instagram to see just how we are spoilt for choice.
Fortunately, you can see the mountain from virtually everywhere in the city, but to catch a really good sunset, there are certain spots you have to go to.
We all have our favourite sunset spots, many of them on various beaches and peaks around Cape Town. Here are five of our favourite places to watch the sunset. While these spots are absolutely great, we all know the best way to enjoy a sunset is with a nice chilled glass, filled with your drink of choice.
Enjoying a good sundowner is the best way to end the day; all you need is a place with a great atmosphere, delicious drinks and an amazing view. Luckily there are many places that fit these requirements.
CAFÉ CAPRICE, CAMPS BAY

I disagree with Peter. I absolutely LOVE Maestros.

Bascule bar at the cape grace
I have been in Cape Town for 20 years and the restaurant in question does have a great view, however the service and food has gone backwards, this is purely my opinion of course. Have you read those insane rules on the back of their menu ? It really does not make one feel welcome ,
Hi Peter. Definitely each entitled to their own opinion. I just felt compelled to say that I disagrew because I do. I was in CT for 12 years. I left 3 months ago. Maestros will be one of the first places I have a meal when I return for holiday. I havent read the rules at the back. Ive never noticed them. I clearly havent broken any.
Manuel Campos for when we’re brainstorming
above in the mountain over slangkop light house always a gorgeous view….
Seems lekker, even though as a capetonian, it’s easier when packing in a little picnic basket and a mat easy peasy no special seats it’s all there no waiting in lines to be seated .. Virstaan? signal hill and all around the base of table mnt basically ..no cover charge no crazy bills and just a way better vibe U0001f60e yours truly the savvyness.
