It’s now June, officially winter. It’s getting harder and harder to get up in the morning and it seems our morning cup of coffee is never hot enough. July is coming and that means we’re going to be even deeper into cold weather and early sunsets.
When in doubt, beer it out right?
The 3rd Annual Woodstock Winter Beer Festival is back this July to bring us some of the best and most unique wintery once-off brews, produced by Cape Town’s local microbreweries. The festival will offer beer-lovers a great afternoon of live music and delectable dishes to keep you going throughout the day.
Craft beer connoisseurs can expect local breweries such as Drifter Brewing Company, Woodstock Brewery, RIOT Beer, Lakeside Beerworks, Afro-Caribbean Brewing Co and more.
BEER!
Drifter Brewing Company will be there on the day, serving unique winter crafts and their popular favourites such as The Cape Town Blonde and The Stranded Coconut. Drifter has won a South African National Beer trophy, with their beers available in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
Riot Beer will be there too, serving their handmade brews straight from the tap. Riot’s craft quality goes unquestioned with an array of awards such as Clarens Beer Festival – 3rd in the show, SAB National Craft Beer Champs 15th, and a South African National Beer trophy under their belt.
FOOD!
Get your hands on whatever you feel like for both lunch and dinner with some delicious food that will be available on throughout the day.
MUSIC!
Dance away the beer and pizza boep with some live music to keep you moving and warm throughout the day and night.
This year the Woodstock Winter Beer Fest will be collecting donations for Neighbourhood Old Age Homes (NOAH) based in Woodstock. NOAH provides independent services and support to pensioners living in the area. The option to make a monetary donation with the purchase of your ticket is available, or bring some items along with you to the festival to donate. Used clothing or shoes in good condition for them to sell in their second-hand shop, non-perishable food, blankets, jackets and items for the winter season are encouraged.
