Adventurous kayaker Stuart Geldart is a man on a mission. He calls himself the Purposed Paddler, and that he is. He is currently on a journey from Kosi Bay in KwaZulu-Natal to the shores of Cape Town – all for a good cause.

Stuart aims to raise awareness around the pollution of our rivers and oceans, and to raise money towards pollution clean-ups.

So, on April 5, 2021, he set off on the 2000km paddle towards Cape Town.

“We have partnered with them as we share the same passion, to witness a drastic change in the quality of our rivers and oceans we are going to need to see a more stable commitment to pollution clean-ups and waste management across South Africa at a government, large corporate and company level,” Stuart says. One of the organisations he is raising money for, is Adopt-a-River.

Adopt-a-River works hard to facilitate partnerships between corporate, government and community role players for the benefit of our waterways in South Africa.

“As I battle the East Coast of South Africa, my team will be capturing some of her hidden beauties, sharing with you vivid imagery of what we are fighting for,” Stuart adds.

We can’t wait to welcome him to the Mother City!
