Locals travelling to the United Kingdom are advised to be aware of the newly-released increases to immigration and nationality costs, which will be in effect from March 29 2019.
Breitenbachs Immigration Consultants released an official statement stating that not all application costs will increase.
“We are delighted to inform our clients that for most visa applications, there will be no fee increases.”
The increase is implemented by the United Kingdom Home Office which is determined before April each year.
Visitor visa fee adjustments
Visitor visa applications will increase by 2 -3% in fees. South Africans applying for visitor’s visas valid for six months will pay an additional £2 (R18.73).
The cost of applying for a visitor’s visa valid for 10 years will increase by £24 (R449.55), making it costly £822 (R15396.96) to apply for this visa.
Breytenbachs says that there are additional fee increases which are applicable to some optional, discretionary and super priority services.
“The electronic waiver fee increase with 100%, bringing the cost to £30 (R561.93). The super priority service will increase by 31%, bringing the cost to £800 (R14984.88). The expedited processing – priority service – will increase with 5% to £500 (R9365.55).”
No charge will be applicable to applications for leave to remain for either adults or children, under the Appendix EU from March 29 2019.
“Breytenbachs Immigration Consultants welcome the fact that there are no significant fee increases for this year, especially in the light of the recent doubling in the Immigration Health Surcharge.”
