Rainy weather is expected to hit the Western Cape starting this Saturday and Capetonians have their fingers crossed that the rain won’t miss us this time.

Although the expected rainy weather of late has been disappointing in both volume and regularity, we can’t help but hope that forecasts of rainfall from this Saturday and Sunday will pull through.

Even with the reduced rainfall experienced in the region recently, the dams levels have held up relatively well.

Dam Levels as of 2 August 2017

Saturday’s rainfall is expected to show up in patches throughout the day and although heavy rainfall is not on the cards, any rain at this point is welcome. Rain is also forecast for Sunday ranging from 3mm to 6mm inland a slightly higher over the Garden Route.

Hopes are that a combination of these rains will finally push the Mother City’s dam levels over 60%.
