Chia seeds are somewhat of a superfood. They are absolutely packed with everything that is good for you!  If you haven’t tried adding them to your food on a daily basis, here’s why you should.

These tiny seeds are a great source of fibre, which feeds the friendly bacteria in your intestine, helping you to maintain good digestive health, according to Healthline. Fibre does not raise your blood sugar and doesn’t require insulin to be broken down.

Chia seeds are also 14% protein by weight, making them an excellent source. Plus, they are high in essential amino acids, allowing your body to make good use of their protein content.

The list goes on. Chia seeds are high in calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus, all of which promote healthy bones.

So, how do you incorporate them into your diet? You can use them raw in cereal or smoothies, or even in your drinking water. They can also be baked into anything, like bread.

Interestingly, they can replace eggs in baking if you are vegan. Mix 1 tablespoon of chia seeds with 3 tablespoons of water, then let them sit for a few minutes. Use that mixture instead of eggs, says Medical News Today.
