#HighburyHearsYou – we at Cape Town Etc are passionate about getting local restaurants back and booming in business. As part of our #HighburyHearsYou initiative, we’re dishing out the deets on some incredible restaurants in and around town.

On Saturday, March 13, Deus Café in Hout Bay hosted a park-off featuring old school British cars. Very fancy, we do say.

Deus Cafe

Situated at 140, Main Rd, Hout Bay, the restaurant shares its plot with boutique shops, so there’s a little something for everyone on offer. Inside the restaurant is a wonderful bar section with a beautiful outside seating arrangement.

I’m a lady with a love for cars and I wasn’t going to miss this event for the world, writes Cape Town Etc’s Leigh Londt.

Not only was the food phenomenal, but the service received was outstanding too. The restaurant welcomes fur babies, which I absolutely love.

The menu is vibrant with plenty of delicious options: eggs bennie, smoothie bowls, and fish and chips just scratch the surface.

Awesome specials are available from Monday to Friday, 12pm to 5pm.

The beer and burger special for just R120 is a firm fave. 1.5-litre jugs of beer and fries go for R140, pizza and spritzers for R155, a double pint beer special at R70, and Corona bucket specials (six beers) for only R175 are also on offer.

The food was just the beginning of a grand experience. The cars – next level!

Jaguars, Land Rover Defenders, and the famous Mr Bean’s Mini Cooper model from the 1900s were just a few of my favourite features.

The restaurant makes divine coffee too, from espressos to cappuccinos. Perfect alongside fresh pastries and a hot engine. Brekkie, lunch or dinner – there really is something for everyone. Throw in a car or two and we’re absolutely sold!

Deus Café is definitely a local spot we love. You’ve got to check them out!
