Learning to take care of yourself is one of the biggest lessons you can discover. We’re so used to moving from one task to the next that we find it unnatural to slow down and take a breather. There are three fundamental points that you should be hitting when practising self-care: physical, emotional and spiritual. To help you along this journey, here are three activities that will help you with your self-care Sunday ritual.

Physical: Move your body

Your body is the machine that keeps you moving from one task to the next, so it’s important to take care of it. Moving your body as often as you can is a great way to get your endorphins pumping and get you feeling good for the week ahead. Dancing in your pj’s, going for a Sunday hike, or practising yoga are all excellent ways to feel good.

Emotional: Be Creative

Whether you’re a lawyer, doctor or accountant, everyone has a creative side. Spend your Sunday indulging in some creative activities that will allow you to express your emotions and release any tension from the week. Painting, writing, and cooking are awesome ideas that will help you get those creative juices flowing.

Spiritual: Practice mindfulness

Tapping into your spiritual side is another way to nourish your self. This doesn’t have to be religious, but it can be anything that gives you the courage to feel inspired and push through the difficult times. Keeping a gratitude journal, setting your intentions for the week or practising meditation are all stellar ways to take care of yourself spiritually.
