Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve spent the better part of two years having to consider our health and wellness. If you’re looking to tweak your wellness journey by adding a few useful hacks, we’ve got you covered. Here are a few helpful tips you can incorporate into your life.
Avoid checking your smartphone in the morning:
What usually starts as five minutes slowly becomes 15 minutes. Checking your emails and social media can sometimes feel like a vortex that has sucked you in. It’s not always easy to avoid checking your phone in the mornings, but take a few minutes to do just that. Instead, use that extra time to contemplate what you’re grateful for or what you’d like to accomplish that day.
The Five by Five Rule:
If something upsets you or is causing an issue in your life, consider whether this would matter in the next five years. If not, don’t spend more than five minutes stressing about it. This is a great way to put things into perspective and eliminate anything that would cause you unnecessary frustration and anxiety.
Carve out some time for yourself:
Whether you’re a busy mum or a stressed-out CEO, carve out 10 minutes of “me-time” in your morning and evening routines. Toss the idea that this sacred time is selfish, but think of it as a way to recharge your batteries, lower stress, become more productive and gain more energy.
Be gentle with yourself:
As the late, great Aaliyah once sang: “At first you don’t succeed, then dust yourself off and try again.” Being gentle with yourself is essential, especially when you feel as though you’ve failed at something. Realise that we’re all human and that our mistakes are learning curves that will help us grow. You got this!
Get ready to meal prep:
There’s no question that life can get busy sometimes, and meal prepping is a great way to enjoy healthy meals while going from one task to the next. Prep your meals for the week on Sunday evening. It’s a great alternative to ordering food every evening, saving you time and money.
Focus on Green Flags:
Instead of looking for red flags in your life, why not do the opposite and look for green flags. Doing this will help you create a positive mindset that allows you to notice the incredible things that you already have in your life.
