Eskom has announced it will be implementing Stage 3 load shedding between 8am and 10pm on Friday, September 4.

“In order to replenish the emergency generation reserves, load shedding will then continue into the weekend,” the public entity said. “The system remains unreliable and vulnerable, and Eskom will continue to communnicate the stage of load shedding should there be any further developments.”

The City of Cape Town has also advised residents to reduce their electricity consumption, and only make use of essential appliances.
